A Rose for Emily

 A Rose for Emily written by William Faulkner before reading the story I didn't know exactly what to expect except that the protagonist would be Emily and love or romance would be a theme present. Some things I liked about the story were the various themes as well as how the story esculated to finding Emily's secret about what happened to Homer. I find the story interesting because of the gothic feel it gives as you're reading with the description of Emily's house, and details such as her dark coal like eyes. Other aspects of the story I like is people don't know much about the protagonist Emily making her mysterious and intriguing. What I didn't like about the story is although we know Emily killed Homer with rat poison, I would like to have known in detail how things led to how they did. Overall I would recommend the story to a friend because it's an interesting story and you really don't know what to expect until the end of the story making it a surprise.
