Young Goodman Brown

At first before reading "Young Goodman Brown" written by Nathaniel Hawthorne I didn't really know what to expect. Some aspects of the story I enjoyed is the whole concept that the old man represented the devil. Symbolism can also be seen in the protagonist's wife Faith represents faith literally and how the old man reminds the protagonist of his father. Something else I enjoyed about the story is the fact that the narrator found a sort of enlightment and opened his eyes of the people he held in such high regard although they were following the devils path the whole time. Something I dislike about the story is the fact that the narrator doesn't go into detail about other characters such as faith since thats a character that I'm curious to know more about. Overall I would recommend this story to a friend because Nathaniel Hawthorne does a great job in raising the idea if whether or not the narrator was dreaming or actually experienced seeing all these people following the old mans path.
