"Ask Me"

Before reading the poem "Ask Me" written by William Stafford I didn't know what to exactly expect. I had the general idea that would concern the narrator being asked some sort of questions. What I liked about the poem is the various ways of interpretation the poem has. For example, some people view the use of the "river" as a negative aspect but I see it as the possibility of change. Another thing I liked about the poem is the use literary elements such as personification and metaphor to tie in the connection of nature to man. What I disliked about the poem is it could get confusing as well as gives the reader an impression of a narrator that just doesn't care about peoples advice. Overall I would recommend this poem to someone else because its descriptive and open to interpretation.
